Damit gemeinnützige Organisationen mit moderner IT arbeiten können und fit für das digitale Zeitalter werden, entwickelte Haus des Stiftens das IT-Portal Stifter-helfen. Stifter-helfen gibt es in Deutschland seit 2008, in Österreich seit 2012 und in der Schweiz seit 2013. Auf den drei Länder-Plattformen erhalten Vereine und andere gemeinnützige Organisationen alles rund um IT: Produktspenden, Services und Know-how zum Thema Digitalisierung.

Haus des Stiftens betreibt die Plattformen gemeinsam mit dem amerikanischen Partner TechSoup Global.

Ab Januar 2024 übernimmt TechSoup Global den Betrieb der Plattform in der Schweiz.

About dn42
dn42 is a large, dynamic VPN that employs Internet technologies (BGP, whois database, DNS, etc.). Participants connect to each other using network tunnels (GRE, OpenVPN, WireGuard, Tinc, IPsec) and exchange routes using the Border Gateway Protocol.

Network addresses are assigned in the 172.20.0.0/14 range with private AS numbers (see registry), as well as IPv6 addresses from the ULA range (fd00::/8) - see FAQ.

A variety of services are available on the network, only accessible from within dn42. dn42 is also interconnected with other networks, such as ChaosVPN and various Freifunk networks.
